More than 500 participants at the big cross-country skiing event under the backdrop of the Dachstein mountain
This success surprised even the organizers: although the "Tour de Ramsau" had to be postponed from January to the weekend of 11.03.2023 to 12.03.2023 due to weather conditions, the major event attracted more than 500 participants from all over the world to the Styrian region of Schladming-Dachstein.
In the best conditions, the ambitious cross-country skiers of all classes and ages fought for the top places in the numerous individual distances. The overall victory of the "Grand Tour de Ramsau", consisting of 30 kilometers classic and 40 kilometers skating, was won by the two Germans Juliane Frühwirt and Jakob Lauerer.
Over two days, the Ramsau World Cup stadium was once again transformed into the Mecca of the international cross-country skiing scene. Perfectly groomed trails and great snow conditions on the high plateau above the Styrian Enns Valley provided optimal conditions for the multi-day race for amateur athletes, which is unique in Austria. Runners from Europe and overseas were represented in the field of participants, even highly motivated athletes traveled from Australia and the USA this year.
