Gröbming - Planai/Schladming
ONE OF THE LAST TRUE WINTER ADVENTURES...
... for vintage cars up to 1972, will take place next year for the 25th time.
When there was no talk of e-mobility yet, the network of filling stations was still sparse, a beetle had to change oil after 2,500 kilometres, rigid axles offered little comfort, no halogen lamps to lighten the roads, gearboxes whimpered for intermediate throttle and traffic jams were a thing of the past, winter driving was still a special art that is preserved at the Planai-Classic.
The snow is getting deeper, visibility worse, the Dachstein road is getting steeper and slippery. Snow cornices make the road narrower and narrower, the stopwatch runs. The gusts of wind from the Dachstein almost sweep the old cars off the road, the windows freeze over.
Whoever is there, experiences one of the last true winter adventures with the tin of the earlier years.
