GenussRegion Ennstal Lamm & Ennstaler Steirerkas

Regionality is important to us: The GenussRegion initiative ensures you get local products of the best quality. The holiday destination Schladming-Dachstein consists of two of these GenussRegionen - the 'Ennstal Steirerkas' and the 'Ennstal Lamm' were recognized as a Genuss Region in 2013.

Ennstaler Steirerkas

The Ennstal 'Steirerkas' is made by hill farm dairymaids, farmers and local cheese factories, using milk from cows, sheep and goats.

Ennstal 'Steirerkas' is considered a culinary landmark of the region. After at least three weeks of maturing, the cheese acquires its grey-brown marbled appearance, lumpy, crumbling consistency and its special tangy savoury flavour.
