Ski like a world champ here in Ramsau

Ever since the 1999 Nordic Ski World Championships, Ramsau am Dachstein has been renowned as Austria’s centre of Nordic sports. The higher reaches, in particular, serve up a trail network that is quite exceptional. 220 km of freshly tracked trails span all 3 tiers of this sunny plateau. The selection is enormous, offering new challenges for all ability levels. It is even possible to ski from one town to the next; Ramsau’s own network is connected with another 20 km of attractive trails in Pichl/Vorberg. And to ensure you never run out of steam: along the trails, you will find over 40 refreshment stops and rustic mountain inns.

Up and away

If you wish to head for ever greater heights, you should see what you are made of on the mountain training trails of the Dachstein Glacier (elev. 2,700 m). The chances are actually pretty good that you will encounter a national team putting in some training! – Other mountain trails are located on the Rittisberg and the Planneralm.

The Dynamics of Skating

»Skating« refines Nordic skiing with a »dash of speed«. The naturally dynamic motions are easy to pick up, your reward: faster glides and descents. Special skating equipment can be rented locally, 70 km of skating trails – groomed daily - available for you to enjoy in Ramsau alone!
