Advent markets and much more are part of the Christmas season. Exhibitors who offer their handmade products, mulled wine stands that not only warm our fingers but also from the inside, contemplative music, getting together with friends as well as contemplative walks can be experienced in the region during this time.

Schladming´s “Mountain Christmas”
From November 25 to December 24, 2022, everything will once again be under the sign of Christkindl and his helpers. Conveying Christmas anticipation, just like it used to be. Childlike stomach tingling, Christmas scent in the nose, Christmas songs and texts in the ear and Styrian delicacies for the palate, much love, art and homemade for the heart! A claim that the Schladming´s Mountain Christmas has more than lived up to for years.

Advent strolls
Mühlenadvent: A winter hike along the sound of the brook and the rattling of the mills awaits you. Historical insights, moments of spirit, traditional Advent decorations and glimmering lights accompany you from the Old Mill in Rössing to the Waldschenke.
Light Trail: For the fouth time in a row, the Light Trail in Haus im Ennstal aims to brighten up the Advent season and offer locals and visitors a magical world of little surprises and special experiences with a unique illumination of historic buildings, alleyways and the church grounds.
Talbachklamm: In winter, the Talbachklamm offers you a glittering world with rock formations iced over by small streams and snow-covered rocks in the middle of the Talbach. The effect lighting of the Talbachklamm is therefore particularly effective in winter.
Krampus
A unique tradition.
Oversized masked figures sporting shaggy pelts, decorated with bells, dusted in soot and wielding wooden rods. Every year from the end of November until 5 December, as the days get darker and colder, when you hear the bells ringing in the distance you definitely understand that this is “Krampus time”. Krampus is a scary creature, who appears together with Saint Nicholas. The children who have been good receive gifts from Saint Nick, while those who have been naughty are punished. This folk custom is centered on the Alpine regions of Austria, primarily Tyrol, Salzburg, Styria and Carinthia, though also encountered as far afield as Bavaria, Slovenia and South Tyrol.
