Concert with ‘Desmond Doyle and the Volunteers’
Desmond Doyle plays Irish folk and his own compositions and has become a fixture in our music scene over the years. Born in Ireland, he has released several CDs in various formations, which have been played on radio and TV. Although he has lived in Austria for over 40 years, his heart still beats for his native Ireland, which is why he plays and sings songs from the Emerald Isle with a lot of humour and feeling. He is joined on stage by his cousins Franziskus and Manuel Berger, two genuine Styrians with a musical affinity for the Emerald Isle, as well as various changing guests. With banjo, mandolin, guitar, bodhran and voices, ‘Desmond Doyle and the Volunteers’ will enchant you with funny, thoughtful and lively songs.
Catering will be provided. Guinness and Irish whiskey will be served.
The main aim of the project launched by Desmond Doyle is to include a picture from every country in the world in the Big Picture in order to show in an artistic way that all people in the world have similar dreams, goals, values and emotions.
There will also be a competition with great prizes.
If the weather is rainy, the concert will take place in the Kulturhalle.
